Welcome to the " ABOUT OUR CLUB " Page

The current club was incorporated as the Scots American Athletic Club of Kearny, New Jersey on January 20, 1932. The filing fee to the State of New Jersey was $15.00 and the club address at that time was 329 Devon Street, Kearny. The founding members were reportedly formed from a goup of men who played horseshoes at the archery range on Passaic Avenue, Kearny. They called themselves "The Kiters". The object of the club, as stated in the first rule book:

"... Shall be to promote good fellowship among all its members and to engender a more harmonious feeling among all" This was well stated and it still is the objective of the current club committee.

The club is located at 40 patterson Street in Kearny, New Jersey. The telephone number is 201-991-9816

The first President of the club was Angus Hutchleson, about whom not too much is known by current members. The 64th President is Mike Gray.

Please refer to the "profile" page where we intend to publish other aspects of our club's history. We invite all current and past members who can contribute, to send anything they think may be of interest. Please contact the club secretary through the "contact us" link. For instance the club proudly displays a picture of a football team called the Scots American FC which won the American Football Conference Cup in 1914.
